Sir Ian McKellen has recently taken on the roll of King Lear. And good for him. But to me, he’s always going to be Gandalf.
Ian McKellen was a most excellent Gandalf, in Peter Jackson's Most Excellent Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Of course, Ian McKellen was also Magneto in the X-Men Movies. And an awesome Magneto he was. Just check it out:

If they have someone else playing Magneto in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Magento film, which they almost certainly will have to, I will be disappointed. At least give us a cameo, guys!
